The Beauty of Small
Students at PMFS thrive in our intentionally small school community. Our intimate size creates advantages that are hard to find at larger public or private elementary or K-12 schools. Here are just a few examples:
Personalized Attention: Our teachers have more time to devote to each student, allowing them to develop strong relationships and personalize their teaching approach.
Being Known: Everyone knows everyone. Students across all grades become familiar with the entire school community. This community awareness creates connection and a safe space where students of all ages are encouraged to use their voice.
Heightened Student Engagement: Small class sizes create comfort and confidence for our students, allowing them to take greater academic risks, and making it impossible to “fly under the radar.”
Opportunities for Off-Campus Experiences: Whether it's a day trip to visit an author or collect macroinvertebrates at a local watershed, or one of our signature overnight trips (which start in 2nd grade), small class sizes allow our teachers to plan these immersive experiences with ease and to always include everyone.
Open Houses & Information Sessions
Open Houses and Information Sessions are a great way to learn more about the PMFS community, curriculum, culture and traditions. A campus tour including stops in select classrooms is included in the open house. Learn about our program from faculty, parents, school leadership and know questions are encouraged! Registration is open for Fall; Spring dates will come out in January

Tuesday Tot Time
Designed for children ages 2-5 (and their caregivers), Tuesday Tot Time is a free monthly (October – May) 45-minute activity with one of our dynamic PMFS teachers. Children enjoy hands-on activities and make new friends.
Registration for each Tot Time class will open approximately a month prior to that class; space is limited. If we have reached enrollment capacity for a class, we invite you to reach out to Joyce Colzani to join the waitlist.
